Photo Template

Whether you decide to stick to just digital images or opt to have physical printing at your event too, you’ll want to finalize your “Photo Template” to help put your stamp on yours and your guests images.

How it works

The Photo Template is the final product your guests will see from the booth.

The whole process will start by simply pressing the booth’s touchscreen. There’ll be a count down from 3 to 2 to 1, to allow your guests to get into place and strike a pose. They’ll be able to see themselves on the screen as they do this. As the booth is open air, there’s room for as many people as they can squeeze into the frame. Then the flash will go…. at that point a photo is taken.

The image will then be shown on the screen.

If you’ve selected to have the booth set-up for a multi-photo run (say 4 photos), the process will start over until all images have been captured. The time in-between photos is often the most fun for guests, sparking them to get more and more creative for the next shot.

At the end of the run, the collated photo template will be presented on the screen, along with the Animated GIF option. And then your guests are free to enjoy, print and share!

Designing your Photo Template

The Phizpix Team are on hand to help you every step of the way but there are a few quick decisions you can start to think about early on…

Size

The first thing you need to decide is whether you want to go for 4 x 6 (post card) or 2 x 6 (photo strip). The  4 x 6 option can be set to either landscape or portrait.

Configuration

The next consideration is how many images you want on your photo template. Just one? Three? In what format?

We have a lot of flexibility on configuration; it’s completely down to personal preference and what you’re trying to achieve for your photo booth experience.

We would, however, recommend that you consider setting up the booth to take multiple images within a run. There are two reasons for this:

       1. To avoid issues with managing the line

In our experience, guests typically aren’t satisfied with just one photo! It’s very common for a line to accumulate for the booth, especially early on. Once guests reach the booth, we find most will want to stay to take several images. If the booth is set-up to take just one image in a run, once the image is taken, guests will want to print / share then ask if they can stay on to take more images. This can frustrate other guests waiting in the line or equally frustrate those at the booth if we have to ask them to return to the back of the line for another go.

Having multiple images in a run helps to speed this process up, set expectations for those in the line and give guests the time at the booth they were hoping for

2. To make the most of Animated GIFs

The Animated GIFs functionality will not work on single image photo templates as the booth needs severe images to stitch together to make the GIF. This proves really popular with guests and adds to the fun!

Design

There are three options when it comes to design: 1) Personalization (standard design); 2) Custom Design; 3) You Design.

Option 1: Personalization

With every rental, we offer for your Photo Template to be personalized. You can select a background color, add your event details, choose your font and add a logo if you have one, all within the price.

Option 2: Custom Design

For an additional fee, we’d be happy to work with you to design a custom template, designed to meet your needs. This could extend to a custom background, unique font work or the addition of graphics etc.

Option 3: You Design

If you have access to design skills, or are a company with a design department, we’d be happy to work with you so that you can take the lead on designing your own template. We’ll happily provide the necessary requirements to make sure it is ‘booth friendly’ and template documents to get you going.
